Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) & Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)
The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) introduced Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements for many U.S. businesses, adsteredmini by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
Since rollout, BOI reporting has gone through significant legal and regulatory developments. Because the topic can change, the best source for the most current guidance is FinCEN.
Small business advocates such as the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) have pushed for legislative changes—including repeal efforts and proposals related to how previously submitted BOI data is handled.
For official BOI information visit the FinCEN website: https://www.fincen.gov/.
